Not being able to use two dashes anywhere is really a PITA.. The XML should -not- try to treat a dash (or two or five or twelve dashes) as a comment anywhere but -immediately- following "<!" or immediately preceding ">" as comments have always been intended.

Perhaps that deserves some explanation...
The time I have available to me for a friendly, relaxing stroll through h2g2 is limited enough these days without having to waste that precious time searching for (or stumbling over) and trying to repair something that should never have broken. Comments (which should never be shown unless a user looks at the raw code) are now being prominently displayed on my pages as errors. I can't even check for new conversation on those pages. There probably isn't any, because likely no one else could view them either.
