Wow.. Here it is August already.. And not just August, but half-way THROUGH august (sorry for the caps, but without or it's a bit hard to get the proper emphasis on that ). With all the hoop-la and glamourizing and commercialization this millennium thing is getting, you'd think that the years 2000 and 2001 would be longer somehow.. or special.

Hi 'Nonnie
I think I have just come across one of these realisations that normally only befall great thinkers in the league of Kant and his sort...
Time passes VERY quickly - too quickly for me anyway...
Here I was, taking a too rare trip round the Guide, and - on Nov 2nd - reads your note on being in mid August.
*sigh*
My kids grow up, too...
*stares absently out the windows, on the clouds above Roskilde Cathedral*
On, well -- I must be getting back to doing the stuff I'm paid to do.
Have a nice mousy day,
SG V

Hi San! Not to dim your moment of clarity, but I'm afraid that one is more common than Kant, et al. It's one I'm fairly sure every adult faces at some point in their life, if they get that far: Time gradually passes more quickly with each year; once you realize you've lived more of your life in the past than you are likely to live in the future, it suddenly takes on a kind of urgency, leaping ahead of you rather than walking along side you.
Children do grow up. Whether this is a good or bad thing is sometimes debatable , but seeing them struggling with their own adult delimas surely does nothing to alleviate the sensations of aging mentioned in the previous paragraph. When they're young, it seems to keep you too busy to notice the passage of time.. Maybe that's why they give us grandchildren.. to take our minds off getting older for brief periods.. Perhaps even extending life in a subjective sort of way.
I had a glimpse of my entry history a moment ago, and realized with a touch of horror that my last page was written in May. (Well, the one before yesterday, anyway.) It seems that since Dad had his surgery episodes that I've not had nearly the free time I had before. When one is young, being busy helps pass the time, which you perceive as good... Later, being busy is more likely to rob you of opportunity. *Sigh* Oh well.. we do what we can.
