My Maslow Pyramid of Needs has been KIDNAPPED!!!
Fenchurch M. Mercury Started conversation Aug 25, 1999
That's right, the most adorable picture of the pyramid of needs, including a very happy shiny stick-figure self-actualised person at the top, created with love by yours truly, has been brutally EDITED from my article. Now I understand why they take it of, assuring continuity in the picture styles of entries and all, but now, how will everyone see what may be the closest thing to my painting a picture....ever. So, I will provide you with the URL, if not so you can see it, just so I know it's possible for it to *live on*...

In other news- they also edited my self-indulgent comments, which is okay because those were just jokes anyway...they were true, but they were jokes
My keyboard DIED and I'm forced to use this one with Arabic symbols in the right hand bottom corners as well as the english letters at the top left...looking at it hurts my brain.
Oww...see?
The Cult Movies thing is taking off like... something else that's cool and fast. Thank you everyone

And then again, they might have taken it out because of the accidental AmericaniZm at the top known as Self- ActualiZation rather than Self-Actualisation, which is a completely different thing

Hey Fenny! Don't let the grammar police get you down! Some 200-plus years ago, a bunch of hotheads fought for the right to spell things in the proper American way. Colour me bad, but I prefer my spelling the easy, colonial way! That being said, can I have a fish?
Wine, beg, wail, please, please! PLEASE!!!

But I like spelling the English way!!! We speak English, after all... Z just makes more sense .
How do you want it to look? *and* Have you asked before, if you have I'm sorry, I wrote all of them down and then lost the list

Sorry about your Maslow Pyramid. I didn't fiendishly remove it.

p.s. why not put it on a page of its own, with additional tiny people in each cell?

Hey Fenny, love the fish really great!!
If you get the time, could you drop me a line? I'd love to be hooked up with a black fish with nice green eyes (if you've got one who likes making fun of all things stupid, she'd be perfect)!
Thanks, thanx, merci!!

As long as it didn't suffer . Maybe I will...the bottom guy would be really really sad, and he'd get happier and happier

That sounds very inspirational. You could print it on T-shirts... and make lots of money... and give it to people who are not as high on the pyramid as you.

If it's not a personal question - who are you? You seem to be one of the grandees of h2g2 and as a minnow in fear of the predators I'd love to know more about you. Do like the fish - if you have chance I would love one.

John- I do like the T-shirt Idea... hmm... well in any case, the picture they replaced it with seems to ba happier anyway so whatever goes But if I do that I'd also have to have a t-shirt featuring that Quote by Mark Twain I love so much.. "Don't try and teach a pig to sing..." Maybe I could start a business. You could be the idea man, if you'd like.
Unnamed Mysterious Reseacher: Well, I'm not a Welshman living and working in Cardiff as a journalist. Pretty far from it. I know a bit about the steps to self-actualisation, I think self-actualisation should be spelled with a "z", and I just vacuumed. I'm leaving in five minutes, and when I get back I'm going to make fish. According to a test I just took, I'll die in 2053, most likely from Cancer (43%), Homicide (10%), or Alien Abduction (6%). I'm sitting in a chair that spins, but when I do spin it squeaks annoyingly and upsets the dog, so I try not to.
If you need help getting around h2g2, just ask, there's tons of people who'd be glad to help .

...and .
I'm usually more of ballast man than an idea man.
Isn't the pyramid thing considered hierarchical *because* the people at the bottom are not as happy as the lucky person at the top? The shape implies that the majority won't make it. Maslow didn't envision a cube, after all.
I prefer your little person doing a "Rocky" jig at the top.

Well the idea of the pyramid is that you build up... you can't be loved and understood if your basic physiological needs aren't met... happiness is one part of it, but it's more about doing everything you can, being your best... etc. Ballast man, idea man, whatever, you're in. We could have Woodentops T-shirts too
I loved my little guy, with his huge dialated pupils an dall... *sigh*
