Some people don't understand that.

My mom kicked me out of the kitchen when I was just trying to entertain her, I thought she must have been incredibly bored in there all by herself. I guess she doesn't like my Whitney Houston marathon. I thought I had a nice voice. 

Your mom too??? There is no appreciation of good music anymore.

I know, I know... *tsk tsk tsk*... I tried a range of music, from classic rock to metal to R&B to folk music... I'mthinking of maybe employing my operatic talent and singing some Orff for her... maybe that will cheer her up

go for it. right now i am trying to expose my mother to the great thing known as 80s music. my renditions of cyndi lauper and blondie are so far not making any impact and she still tells me to shut up. But i will persevere.

Great stuff! Might I warn you not to sing any Duran Duran, as I, after reading your message, went to sing my mom some only to be confronted with a blunt breadknife.
