h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Due to the fact that I went forward in time, and found people wondering where I am and thinking I am dead, I thought that I might come back and tell people that I am not dead.

Turns out my disappearence is due to the fact that I went forward in time, so no one could actually find me here, so they thought I was dead.

To let the truth be known, work is busy and I have an upcoming plane trip (er not the one found at http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?forum=9231&thread=14692 ) I will not be around. So instead of waiting for all the fan mail and that, I thought I would say now, instead of in the future, 'Yes I am alive, and the rumours of my death were greatly over exagerated'

Though if you hear about a plane crash that was, flying from Melbourne to Sydney (on Friday) or Sydney to Melbourne (on Monday), then please see if I am alright.

Work has been really busy, and has sucked away all my humour. ALso I may have to look for another job as the budget of the project has been cut back. All this and the fact that I am now in an area at work were people can see me, so I have to do work, I am unable to give h2g2 the 500% like I used to.

I actually have a job interview with an ISP tomorrow afternoon. Not sure if I will take the job if offered, but I will wait and see.

I won't be back in Melb until Monday afternoon, and even then I will have to catch up with someone that I know I will have missed, even though it was only 4 days apart.

Sympathies with the work problem - been there and done that, although I'm not sure that I'd cope so well without H2G2 now...

Good luck with the interview, too. See if you can glean in this time whether or not the job will allow the same participation in the fora - it could be a wise career move, if it does!

Thanks for the encouragement. I have heard I might be able to stay on hear until mid-Nov but the uncertainty with work makes it hard to be motivated to work.

I've been so busy at work recently that I just don't get time to send e-mails and have make fleeting visits to h2g2 which is a pity cos you don't get into the conversations if you can't stay online.
All is well this end apart from being broke at the moment -payday next Friday yippee!
Apart from that things outside work are dull.

Good to hear that you're alive too. Things are going well, and I have an interview this afternoon with and ISP. Until I get something in writing with work here, I am still going to look for work. No use waiting until my contract runs out and find I have no job when I could have had one if I went to an interview.

I was just around in Fenchurch's indecipherable exclamation forum and noticed your return. How did the interview go? How was the trip? What's the latest on the work situation?

Incidentally, I should be coming down to Melbourne on or about 18 November for a diabetes conference on the 20 - let me know if you've the time or the inclination to socialise!

Yes I am back. The trip was good, would have been better except for an something that happened on Sunday (not willing to tell everyone about it).

As for coming down to Melb, by all means try and get in contact with me (when it gets closer).
