What's this feature for anyway? It just gets in my way. Is there an option to turn OFF the journal entry thingy? What can you do with journal entries that can't be better done with user pages?

with journal entries you can goof up and know you will never ever be able to fix the goof. with user pages you can at least know that whatever you goofed up you can ungoof. now if you happen to have the internet connection i have then you stand a 50/50 shot of loosing your connection about the time you start to hit the post button on your journal entry like i just did a moment ago which means the mistake never happens because you loose everything you just wrote.

Uhm.. yeah. What I mean is why can't we have an option to not have journal entries on our pages? They just get in my way. I wish I'd never written any. I just use User Pages now, and try to avoid the temptation of hitting that other button.

yes, i understand, i think there should be an option not to have them turned off but then people like me who are working on their 4th night in a row with absolutily no sleep and are on the verge of a straight jacket due to lack of sleep would have nothing to regret the next time we logged onto our page and found our ramblings forever written in stone.

well, i seem to have my fair share of them and i am only 30 so i figure by the time i die i will not be able to show my face in public for the line of regrets that will be following me .

All the more reason why we don't need the journal entries. User pages are sufficient.
Of course it's possible they don't want user pages to be used for whatever the journal entries are designed to do, but without the editing power of the user pages, journal entries are obsolete.
Perhaps if there was a way to do journal entries just like user pages, but anything that was posted in the journal entries couldn't ever be considered for guide entries, maybe that would be sufficient? I don't know. I need coffee.

i am one step ahead of you on the coffee for it is now 3:00 a.m. here and beings as i have to work today i figured i would get juiced up real good on the caffine
as for journal entries and user pages, i would think that they could make it to where you could edit your journal entries up until the point you wanted them submitted for rejection then you would click a submit button and from then on you could not make anymore changes to it. does that make any sense or am i maybe just be a bit lopsided from the lack of sleep?

i'm lacking sleep too so i honestly can't tell. I can tell it's becoming exceedingly more difficult to keep my eyes open.

well, let me say that i have now just awakened from some much needed sleep and re-read my last posting. i think i was lopsided at the time because my journal entry comment was wrong, cannot submitt journal entries, see i told you the problem is all goof ups are forever written in stone for everyone to see (hide my head from public view now). fairly strange says the reason journal entries cannot be edited is due to the fact that what they want to accomplish is to let us
get to know everyones personalities and how they really feel at the time they posted their journal entries and if they could be edited then it would not give us a true picture of what we were really like and our feelings at the time we wrote them. i still think you should be able to edit them and as for knowing what i am really like, hell....... if i wanted someone to know i would tell them!
must go for coffee now as i am still a little foggy headed.
Key: Complain about this post
