Bad day. From singing to filing out of date law papers. When you are asked to file something that has been sitting on someone's untidy desktop since April '94, you really get a feeling for the futility of your existance.
Plus it was an old handwritten note, with a telephone number that is no longer valid. Is it just me, or am I working for Dilbert's boss?

You noticed I was using this site! In between filing of course. Tell me, have you worked for anyone quite as pointy haired as the person I work for? The other main project I am doing is typing up all the litigation reports for the firm for the last 25 years, as they don't have a scanner. They wanted it in a word document to make it easy to search, but I am giving them an access database, since I will probably be the one to search it. Besides, it is more interesting.

I'm always reminded of that wonderful exchange from Red Dwarf (I think it was only in the books) - I'm paraphrasing but:
Rimmer: There's always one, isn't there? The show-off. The imbecile. The idiot. The gimboid.
Lister: Yes, sir. But he's not usually in charge, Sir.
