So, it's 11/8 Portsmouth, 8/5 Blackburn, and 11/5 the draw.
Blackburn is a day out for most of the high-ranking executives. They get to spend Grand National Day at a jollie, while all of the shop staff are going out of their minds with the increase in business that Grand National Day brings to a typical bookmakers.
I, however, shall only be going out of my mind in the morning; By the afternoon, I shall be safely hiding in Fratton park, awaiting the result of not only the Grand National, but also of the football game that is due to occur. Then I settle some bets. Then I go down the pub.
As far as the national is concerned, my best tip is NOT to back the favourites. 4/1 favourites (for that is what we are offering at the moment) DO NOT WIN the grand national. Ok, it might, but 4/1 is not exactly the sort of money I am looking for on this race.
Instead, I'll look for a 20/1 or thereabouts, and consider the each-way possibilities. Pick the best 20/1 you can find, and who knows, you may get lucky. Alternatively, just send me lots of money, I can always find something to use it on.
