Unfortunately for the rest of us, but for the fun of them, the TAC (The Acronym Committee) is absolutely berserk about acronyms. The government, sadly, allowed it to come into being after the movement of TUAONACFTKABTGFTTBOACTBCC (The Unofficial As Of Now Acronym Committee For The Kind Allowance By The Government For The To Be Official Acronym Committee To Be Created Committee). An entire separate governmental committee, TAONTAAC (To Allow Or Not To Allow Acronyms Committee) saw to the regulations of the allowance of the TUAONACFTKABTGFTTBOACTBCC, and also passed the law allowing TAC to come into being but, thankfully, limited their acronym length to 20 letters or less. It could have been tighter, but we’ll take what we can get. Now, sadly, the galaxy and its businesses are riddled (literally) and plagued (also literally) with thousands, no, millions, of plague-riddled (again literally) acronyms. Now a new committee, TGCAAA (The Great Committee Against All Acronyms), has been formed in protest of the awful acronym situation, but is obviously in it just for the money. Now, acronyms remain, commercial, non-profit, business, or private. I know that the title of our book and also the name of our company are acronyms, but if they weren’t acronyms, then they would be simply too long to say. Some are made because the unabridged name is too long to say, of course, but most other acronyms are made up just for the fun of it. Hopefully, possibly, someday, maybe, we might be able to rid the galaxy of the JPSA--the Just Plain Stupid Acronyms.
