I did have a little American flag [**=] in my nickname, but since the mourning is now 'officially over', it's gone. I saw it on someone else's nickname a week or so ago, and did the only decent thing - stole it. It seemed rather a good thing to have there.
What a two weeks it's been, though. I've been astonishingly impressed by the number of people being comforting and welcoming here, and by the depth of some of the political discussion.
It's an honour to work on a site where people can really help each other and learn a little bit more about the world: governments, people, religions, politics - everything. And to be good and silly sometimes as well...

I wondered what that thingie was.
Sometimes my powers of observation are a bit weak.
Have a good weekend!

I did, thanks. Now that The Girl is back from overseas, I have someone to talk to again. Which is always a boon. (As opposed to a baboon, which just won't come down off the top of the fridge...)
Ah, it must be Monday.

Bangkok, with friendly lady-boys and 'ping-pong' women. 'Love you long time five dorrar you see you like yes' etc.
She was there helping a large phone ntework company set up their Thai outfit, writing copy, doing brand stuff. All very high-powered. And boy did they treat her well - flew out business class, fully reclining seat, champagne out of a glass, but plastic cutlery! Good hotel, fine food, much thunder and lightning (although that may not have been their department) and came home just when she was ready.

I believe there was one human freakshow club on Phat Phong where I would have really fitted in.
Actually, they were so impressed with her work, they asked whether she'd go back - and even said they might have something for me. Maybe they'd been to that club as well...

She must have really missed you to visit a human freak show in Thailand.

On a serious note, have I lost my mind or have TPTB really explained *why* we need a 'no spitting' rule on site?

I think she did. Mind you, there's no freakshow like a home freakshow...
Seriously (ahahahah!) I guess someone had to make everything perfectly plain. Lawyers love that kind of thing, and there are plenty of people who just won't get the joke, or think there's some catch or something. There are still some people who've probably never heard of (or read) The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy...
I wouldn't have bothered, myself, but what do I know, eh?

Then we are unanimous?
Should I start a petition drive?
Seriously, it amazes me that the full-time staff deal with such minute things when there are so much more productive things they could be doing...
*tries to imagine a home freakshow*
When is that smiley going to be done btw?

I couldn't possibly comment.
Maybe we could animate so it looks (briefly) like that guy in 'Scanners'...

Don't they teach you guys anything? Never, never say 'no comment'.
'I can neither confirm or deny' has *such* a classical bureaucratic feel.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
