I am writting this using a 486 running internet explorer 3 as the browser, and it isn't too bad except to improve the speed of the machine i had to disable pictures as this slowed the computer up alot and meant pages took forever to load but all things considered it isn't too bad. Don't Panic, I have 3 computers at my disposal and i decided to use this one as the others were in use, but what amazes me is that h2g2 works on internet explorer 3. Its just amazing.

Well the first computer I had was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48k.
*and I've still got it*
I still have an Amiga too. Lovely machines. Shame about Commodore... not to mention Gateway's false promises.

Well the oldest computer type thing in my house is my dad's atari console game thing with space invaders. Yawns and goes to bed, good night world.

Ah, the old Atari console... *nostalgia trip* I knew someone who had one of those... and loads of different games too... I thought they were great... although every game basically involved varying numbers of blips moving about the screen.
Also and needing to after a very busy day.

Yeah the games were just coloured blips moving across the screen, way behing the standard of todays games but there still classics.

But the thing about games in those days is that they had to have actual 'game play' value. Like the old text games. These days, games are sold on flashy graphics, which soon lose their appeal when you realise it's just another tired old platform game with different scenery.
Of course, there are the odd one or two that break the mould. Like Starship Titanic, and the forthcoming Hitch Hikers game.

I've got Starship Titanic, although I can't complete it because itwon't work properly on one of the puzzles.

Consider yourself lucky. I missed my chance to buy it, and now it's not available anywhere.
I won't make that mistake with hitch hikers though.

Um... there's something about it on the BBC news pages. Although it does say it should be out in 'Spring 2001'!! Perhaps they meant to say 2002... or maybe 2010.
I'll see if I can find the page again. There is a link to another piece of DNA news ('bout the book) on my space.

Cheers for that Pegasus, I read the article and will now wait with baited breath for the games arrival, which should be sometime in the past seeing as it is now summer 2001 although it doesn't seem like it.

Perhaps they will transport the game back in time to make it available in Spring 2001, once they have gone even further back in time to consult with Douglas.

I found the site of the company who are creating the game, only problem is the company making the game are swedish which means the sites in swedish.
We could try to find a researcher who is swedish or speaks the language so we could find out more about the game.

That BBC article has unfortunately quoted a typo in the original press release: the game's not due for release until Q1 2002. Apart from including the usual suspects, Towelin Monks are being introduced to train Arthur in the use of the meta-towel for when his regular towel can't quite cut it.
