I took part in a poetry challenge today, the theme was Surprise.
Sunday Treat
Rainy afternoon
at your place.
Your face,
creased in smiles.
“What gives, you loon?
What joke
has choked you,
made you grin.
“Stay right there,”
you said,
“on the bed,
won’t be long.”
Waited, bare,
in the sack
You came back.
“Close your eyes.”
Cold ice cream
on my skin
made me scream
in surprise.
“It’s Sunday,
my ice cream
sundae girl,
raspberry swirl.”
Tricky,
that slippy, sticky,
love dessert
but delicious!
