Now the end begins

Now the end begins
A slow dying
that withers the soul
and numbs the mind.
The long drawn ragged breath
that pulls on the dramatic
mocks the reality of the now.
Many stay to watch the end,
morbidly facinated by their own demise.
But many have fled,
leaving the buring building to its own devises.
And I am caught between a rock and a hard place.
