I can't describe the life, books, statues and paintings by Jan Wolkers, without copying it from tee internet.
I will not do that, so I put here a link in English description about the man Jan Wolkers who just died, a few days ago. It's now the end of October 2007. He almost was 82 years old and still painting.

Well, I could not join the life report about his funeral so I saw it today at the internet.
But I'll just give here a link at Y.Tube where one can watch a Dutch news program about his life and death.
Anyhow; I was watching the funeral at the internet today, and at the end, while his wife and children touch the unpainted wooden coffin and music of Bach could be heard, I suddenly started to cry.
I was reminded about something that once had happened in my early childhood at Christmas (the Dutch version; "sinterklaas".doesn't matter). At Christmas day I was invited by "Sinterklaas" to come and he asked me how many brothers and sisters I had.
Well, it was a hell of a job to count them one by one and finally I said; "I think it is seven".
Still today, I can not answer that question within five seconds.
The cry had apparently two sources; I loved him as an artist/writer/
Sculptor/media personality and I also loved him as a brother, more than I've ever loved my physical brothers; four.
