Phew I survived my first week at work

It is a peacefully anarchic set up: totally impractical for any real work to get done, but fun for people who can swing with the flow of lack of priorisation. It's going to change (for the better) so I shall enjoy it in the safe knowledge that it won't be going on much longer

Tomorrow I plan to jump on a bus to the local estuary. I shall take binoculars, camera and picnic

It was blowing so hard that I had to lean over to stay on my feet So I quit after an hour and a half: it started raining then too. All the birds I had been hoping to see were sensibly sheltering

So I came home via the shops and am now about to pour myself an early and open the olives - and I have The Travelling Wilburys on DVD to keep me company

Glad you made the sensible decision to ride out the howling wind with your feet up, sipping and an excellent Pinot Noir and watching a favourite film. .

if you get the chance......after Oct 1, try to get hold of 'Cloudy Bay Sauvigion Blanc' from the Marlborough region of NZ, it is considered one of the finest white wines of the world

I have a waiting list of peoples to be notified when the next vintage reaches our shores after it is released on October 1st.
