Monsoon mayhem
Anushodhak Started conversation Aug 3, 2005
We are having worst monsoon of century and record breaking rains. Streets are flooded in many states in India, Dams are overflowing, bridges are submerged in swelling rivers. So many people have died because of floods and landslides. Bombay was worst hit. All my friends and relatives are safe and dry now but by and large all had a terrible night on street or in office last Tuesday.
My mother had two feet water in her lounge and things were floating. My brother had to walk in waist deep water to reach his residence. His car completely vanished under water in his parking.
It was red alert in my city yesterday I took a leave and relaxed at home. Today we are having infrequent spells of sunshine after almost a week.
