Peace
Quelor Started conversation Jun 3, 2003
Generally, I am an optimistic person. I believe that man is inherently both benevolent and a social being. I define myself not as an American, or as a Christian, etc. Rather, quite simply, I am a human being. So, let me tell you why I am optimistic about "peace" in a general term.
It can be summed up in two revolutions:
The "information" revolution and,
The "migration" revolution.
If we assume that history is progressive (which is, indeed, an assumption) than it becomes clear that over the centuries man has grown closer to his fellow man. In the recent transient century, these evolving revolutions have sped up to a rather breathtaking speed. I can, in no time at all, talk to anybody in any part of the world, read news from any country, read literature from any country, watch movies from any country, travel to any part of the world, and live in any part of the world.
In other words, I can gain an understanding of any person on this planet. The "information" revolution allows me to understand my fellow man. The "migration" revolution allows me to meet my fellow man. They will be (and already have been) responsible for fundamentally altering people's perceptions. Those perceptions will increasingly stop tolerating acts of violence upon others.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
