Misty

This is my first journal entry. I don't know what to say or who will be reading this. I suppose introductions are in order. My name is Misty, I'm in my early 20's, I live in Vancouver with two cats and I work in a comic book store. I also volunteer at Vancouver Aquarium as a researcher. I went to film school, but I still haven't decided what I want to do with it, though conservation is definitely a field I'm interested in.
I'm a big fan of pop culture as a subject, though not always of the facets of pop culture. I'm appalled by most current music and I hate reality TV, but I enjoy comic books and cartoons. My favourite films are "the Godfather" and "Singin' in the Rain." My favourite colour is blue. My favourite authors are Madeleine L'Engle and Douglas Adams, which is how I ended up here. My favourite bands are the Age of Electric and Sloan, who are Canadian, so you may never have heard of them, though I reccommend them whole-heartedly. My favourite show is Smallville, but my favourite channel is the Discovery Channel. However, I recently surrendered my cable as an expensive and unnecessary luxury, so I don't watch a lot of TV these days, since most network TV is dreadful.
I guess that's about it for now. Anyone who feels generous enough to respond to this boring crap is more than welcome to, particularly if you've more interesting things to talk about than me.

Thanks

Hi Misty, you don't sound at all boring to me.Ihave just joined H2G2
and live in the UK in North Yorkshire. I am married with 2 children who have left home and I have 2 Grandchildren Matthew and Shannon, one from each of my daughters. I have always thought of living in Canada but at my age (51) it will probably not happen now. Its just the thought of all that lovely wilderness you have there, it would be so peaceful. Many Regards to you and yours, Bilbobilbo.

Hi! Thank you for replying to my journal entry! It's been there for months and no one's ever said anything about it, and it gets a liitle depressing seeing the "No Replies" button.
I definitely recommend living in Canada, although having never lived anywhere else, I may be a little biased. ^_^ It's the second biggest country in the world, with one of the lowest populations. As for wild, I live in one of the larger Canadian cities, right downtown, and we sometimes have coyotes in the neighbourhood. But it truly is one of the most beautiful places on earth.
But you know what? If you're kids are all grown up, you can do whatever you want, just for you now!
