Hi Diane!
I'm not very computer literate either - I mostly use if for work - you know, basic functions, but am slowly learning more difficult things, like logging in and posting to external message boards!
I had difficulty with the h2g2 site yesterday - it was running so slowly I had to keep refreshing and going back on myself. Very frustrating but I don't think you could have done anything wrong, it just happened that way. I gave up in the end, saves getting too hot and bothered .
Normally I log in each time I visit because I don't want the rest of my family interfering with my pages, or being found out if I'm at work! So that way, when I log in I go straight to my space and see if anyone has contacted me - ususally not! But I always say it takes two to make a conversation otherwise I'll just end up talking to myself
We have not really spoken to each other before; I have joined in to a couple of your messages and postings on the H&N board as well, I think. And we have a mutual friend, now departed from this world (BE) with whom I am in part-time private communication through another avenue.
Now not wishing to cause you embarrassment , I think your levelheaded, sensible advice and your humour is wonderful. I hope you don't mind me saying I have read a few of your postings, conversations etc (forgive me, I'm far too inquisitive for my own good!) and am really impressed and astonished by what you have written about. My life is unexciting by comparison, but I have been very lucky in my life and so have nothing to complain about. I too have teenage children and their fluctuating love lives certainly keep me busy. It wasn't so difficult when I was their age!
So, where was I? I do waffle so much... Oh yes, the website! Good luck with the ailing website, it seems to be OK so far this morning, and I'd better get some work done or I'll be in trouble. When I get sidetracked I can ramble on for ages!
Keep in touch, if you feel like it. Perhaps we should have a virtual morning sometime soon (low fat milk and splenda ) How about it? We could invite some friends along too. I can bake a low-carb with one of Nigel's recipes!
With love and all best wishes,

Why thank you Annie for your kind comments, i really do not deserve them, i am just an ordinary gal, with the usual problems of life. I do love to help others though, and usually with regards to helping others not make the same mistakes as myself!..
I suppose looking at it in my 40 years on this earth i have experianced a few abnormalites along the way......namely my son!! i him to death for all my sins, but boy does he do my head in!!!
What with being adopted and finding my natural family, nearly losing my little girl (she 16 now but still my baby), the traumas of their love lifes and having had 2 eating disorders (still battling with an on coming one at the mo but getting better) 2 cats a huge mortage and a very loving husband. I will have to write a book like Sal says, but i just hope it doesn't take the next 40 years to do it. Where on earth would i start.........i have wanted to write a book with regards to my adoption etc, as i feel it would be a major eye opener for many, i mean i am still finding out things about myself now!!! In fact yesterday i found out how much i weighed when i was born 6lb 8 yippee!!
Despite my pitfalls with regards to my eating problems i have still managed to help perhaps 1000's lose weight sensibly now. This job i love and could not imange doing anything else, i get such a kick out of seeing the results my clients get, its fantastic. . one client i have just seen was told if she didn't get her blood sugar levels down pretty soon she would go blind......11 weeks ago her reading were over the 20 mark, well today we are now looking at her readings of average 6.6 what a result!!!
If i can help anybody else feel free to ask. Diane xxx

Hi Sal, how are you, nice for you to pop over and say hi. I think i have now sorted the prob out, it seems i have not been the only one with a stupid computer!! I have no idea with regards to a digital box..ok we have sky and i know how to work that but thats it folks anything else just blows me away!! Where i live i can't get broadband either, neither can we get gas, as we live out in the sticks far from any industrial areas, so i wake up to the birds sheep and the cockeral when he decides to give his vocal cords a bash. Speak soon Diane xxx (rose)

Well Diane, I just tried displaying your page and couldn't get to it, so it may not be your computer! H2G2 is a bit strange, when I go on to it from the office, it recognises me, when I do the same from home, using the same laptop it doesn't! So it may be nothing to do with you! Hopefully you will also have had an email from me by now too! So we still have a way of keeping in touch even if H2G2 curls up its toes now and then!
Remember never talk about something being important or urgent like an email you have to do within earshot of your computer! They take an opportunity to go wrong, so that they can be the centre of attention! Its so infuriating!
Hope you had a good week-end!
Ian

Hello again Diane!
You are most certainly not ordinary, by any stretch of the imagination! Of course I mean that in the best possible way! And what you do in the way of help and advice for other people is simply amazing . I guess it helps that you have had loads of differing experiences to draw on, some good and some not so happy and that other people relate to. Anyhow, the main thing is that you are so good at communicating and getting through to people where it matters most. That is if all the computers are working
I'm very glad to have made your acquaintance and hope if any of my experiences (I have had a few in my time ) can be of benefit, then that would be great as well.
I am at work this morning although I don't normally do Tuesdays until later in the day. I was up at 5:30 am to find 3 teenage bodies lying comatose on the living room floor, and all the debris of their over-indulgencies left to clear up. Hubby was not amused so I was called in to deal with "the situation". I opened the curtains, switched off the TV and opened the balcony door. With the cool draft of air hitting them they soon got up and scurried to the bedroom . If they can sleep on the living room floor, they can sleep on the bedroom floor, where no-one would be any the wiser until a more civilised time of day!
Anyway as I was up I did the housework, cleared up after the boys, did a couple of wash-loads and headed to work for a and some rest!
I'll see what happens later....
Bye for now, x

Ha ha sound rather like my house on a normal day!!! As i also have 2 teenagers i can fullt empathise with you. It got that bad at one stage that each time i came in from work i would count the trainers left scattered on my kitchen floor....now this was not an easy task as they never put them in pairs so i had to count them in singles and divide them in 2 to get how many pairs there were then i knew how many i had in the house, but i was not taking into consideration if i had an 1 legged , which could have thrown my theroy into all i craved for was , but each day it would seem as if a major had been planned wereby the object was to get as as possible until they could , fall into a coma until me the stopped it and they got tired of my objections we moved house in the end to find some and it worked, we now live in a small rual village, and only those that can drive can get here and thats if they can afford the petrol he he.
Speak soon and be with you Diane xxx
