Well I joined H2G2 today, and now I am writing my first journal entry. I am not really sure what to put in this 'open diary', not clear exactly how personal I am comfortable with it being.
Being as cyberspace is so big I don't imagine many people are ever going to read it though, so that should mean that I can write what I want, and the chances of anyone I know reading it are fairly slim. On the other hand, nearly everyone I know is a total tech-head, and if I even mention this site they will look for me on it.
There's been a lot of 'new starts' in my life recently, not massive, tumultuous ones, but starts nontheless.
Two months ago I started a diet (I've lost a stone and a half), I also started going to the gym, which for smoking, drinking, couch potato me was a real endevour! I have been going six days a week ever since - remarkably I actually enjoy it.
The best bit has been doing a yoga class once a week. Our yoga instructor is also doing meditation exercises with us, which lead me to do some research into meditation myself. I now practise meditation for 20 minutes each day. I am APPALLINGLY bad at it, for every 20 minutes practise, I think I reach focus for about 2 if I am lucky. However, I am sleeping better than I have in years, my performance at work has improved and nearly everyone I know says I seem much more 'centered' and present than I used to. So, presumably I am achieving something.
This is something of a rambling entry, probably the shape of things to come.. I tend to think things faster than I can communicate them to other people (either by talking/typing/writing them down). If you have read it, hope I didn't bore you. Maybe I will do something exciting tomorrow.
