The train pulled in three minutes early at my station this morning. I was greatly amused by the sight of various overweight commuters lolloping - they would have called it running - over the footbridge to catch it before it moved off.
I just strolled along not caring if the train went or not - There will be another along in fifteen minutes - However, I got to it with a couple of minutes to spare and wondered how many heart attacks there would be later on today as a result of the extra effort.
Went to buy a birthday card for my wife in a new card shop. It is huge - the shop - and on two floors. The idea presumably being that a shop that big must have a hell of a lot of cards. Here was a place where I was surely going to be able to buy the right card for my loved one.
I spent half an hour in there. I am certain that I looked at every single card. I even looked at the selection of musical mugs with your own personal message on.
I contemplated - but not for long - the purchase of a cuddly teddy bear that promised TRUE LOVE.
I was not tempted by the astonishing array of coloured metallic pens, balloons and candles.
Who would buy this rubbish?
