They're always on Wednesdays, it's sports afternoon so no lectures.

Two weeks wedneday, that's the 28th, right? Turns out my last exam is on that day, finishing at 3pm. Open days finish at about 4-4.30, so, ooooh, the possibilities. 
Could show you what the uni's really like, (though would be in a very odd mood after finishing last exam 
)

How far is it to the city from the uni?

10-15 minutes on the 
to the city centre. Far enough away to not be in the thick of it, but not so far that getting there is a problem. 
My hall's right next to Beeston, which used to be a town but is now part of the urban scrawl that is Nottingham. Means that there's something resembling a town centre within easy walking distance.
