Locals flock to see icebergs
Nov 16, 2006
The scientists thought it wouldn't happen, but the icebergs floating off our southern coast have got close enough for a lands-end view.
It has been 75 years, but on Thursday icebergs could be spotted from the mainland.

Just to give some idea of where that is it's about 60km from the mainland, just below 46degrees latitude.

I'd head out and see them. Apparently they were expected to be gone by today but they are lasting longer than expected. You might not get the chance again!

The only way I'd get close enough for a photo is to pay the $500 for a scenic flight
It's raining today so I think visibilty from the mainland will be next to nil. Hopefully the other ones further out are on their way though
