Ssubnel...took his ball and went home Started conversation Jan 7, 2003
Well, I am back in the gym after a 14 month absence. I was very ill after having my chest sliced open, and nearly bleeding to death in an operating room in a hospital in L.A. At first I told myself that I was still recovering, and I needed to heal before I went back. Now I know I was just lazy, and maybe a little scared that I wouldn't be able to get back into the shape I was in before. But in October I realized what a fat pig I was becoming, and so I started this evening on the road to rehabilitation. Let me just say, that there's room for improvement. I can barely survive 20 min of cardio. I was military pressing 175 lbs. It was a joke. But I pushed myself as hard as I could for 45 min and went home to throw up. Wasn't part of the plan, but these things happen. I don't think I'll be pushing quite that hard the rest of the week, but I would like to be pushing my own bodyweight by the end of the month and not feel like I am going to die when I try the treadmill. We'll see. Maybe a year from now I'll read this and remember and laugh.
