h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

It would be difficult to sum up the life of Peter Ustinov in a single page.

He was an actor, writer, film director, children's rights-advocate, good-will ambassador, humorist, raconteur, historian.... the list, itself, would make a lengthy read.

To simplify.... He was a gentle human-being who genuinely cared for the future of the planet and the people, especially the children, on it. He applied himself equally to his art and to his convictions.

It is enough to say "He will be missed".

What a life, eh? (pardon my Canadian )

There are a couple of threads on ask h2g2 about Sir Peter as well. I mentioned on one how his photo even turned up on the front page of one Spanish newspaper with the heading 'Adios el sir de la pantalla' (pantalla=screen).

Basically he was the sort of person who made you proud to be a human being.

And he was so familliar that you thought you actually knew him personally.

I loved his voice.....
