Long Weekend
rangerjustice (formerly warrior ranger) Started conversation Jun 15, 2003
Well, I'm back from my 3 day weekend.
I was a fun hog.
Actually, it was a better weekend than the would indicate. It was more of a weekend.
Or perhaps even a kind of weekend.
I'll say it again, just for the record:
I WAS A FUN HOG!

Glad you had fun, you old fun hog you!!
Hey, any long weekend that involves , , or can never be bead. Any long weekend that involves any combination of the above has no option but to be good!
What did you get up to, then ?

Sounds intriguing ...but I will respect your right to privacy...and say woo hoo nonetheless... ??

Tanz, old buddy, woo hoo would be woefully inadequate!
Woo hoo! would come a bit closer...
WOO HOO! would be fairly close to accurate!
My only concern at this point is that it's way too hot to wear a turtleneck to work, and I have to lead a staff meeting tomorrow...
Oh well, c'est la vie!
And by the way, if you knew how long a drought we're talking, you'd realize that I MUST brag, or my teeth will explode from holding it in!

WOO HOO!!
Do you have any scarves that you can wear? Or would that make it too obvious??
Apparently most things can be dealt with with concealer, but I'm not a make up person, so I wouldn't know ...
I'm glad that the drought is over for you, dear , and here's to many more to come!

Scarves aren't an option, as I wear a uniform. I'm not a makeup person, either, but even if I had something to use I'm afraid my collar would just rub it off. Then I'd have hickeys AND a dirty shirt.
I'm curious to see whether my guys will be brave enough to say anything, or if they'll just wonder about it when I'm not around...

There's something very surreal about going to work with hickeys.... depending largely on whether or not the circumstances that lead to them were good or bad. Sometimes they can be worn with pride, other times with the utmost embarrasment...with me it's usually a little of both...
It's always fun to see people's reactions to them. Most people will be cool, there's always one person who will point and laugh , and every now and again there's the "my GOD, what happened to YOU?" then there's the knowing smiles and winks, and the gossipers...
...oh the politics of hickeys. Aint life grand ?

I'm VERY fair skinned, and lately I've had a tendency to break out in hives on my neck for some unknown reason. So I'm guessing I'm gonna get something along the lines of "Hey, you're getting hives...uhhh... never mind!" followed by a rapid exit or change of subject!
I'm going to try to minimize my contact with the public for a few days, since I just don't present a real professional image right now! As far as my workers, I don't mind some teasing, as long as they don't get nuts about it. I do have the advantage of being the boss, so no one's likely to get too carried away.
If they DO get overambitious, I'll threaten to tell them just exactly how good a weekend I had, in graphic detail. That ought to be enough to send my older, conservative staff heading for the hills!

I've always been lucky enough to get serious hickeys during winter...yay the collared shirt wearing season!
(Oh, lunch time with Mum, shall return soon !)

I've always been careful about NOT getting major hickeys, just because it does look unprofessional.
IF they're visible, that is!
This weekend, for some reason, I just decided I didn't give a rat's @ss WHAT people think!
Ah, recklessness ... it's such a powerful drug!

And we can't ignore the fact that, although they're a little embarassing to deal with, they're mighty fun to get!

As nice as lunch with Mum can be on a grey, windy day...
Of course I'm not very personable today as it is. I went out last night (one of the bargirls was heading back to England, so we had to see her off - always good to be friends with the bar staff at your local ). As a result feeling a little sleep deprived and slightly out of it. But it was definitely worth it !!

Glad lunch was ok and the going away party was suitably ish!
Unfortunately, 'tis getting late here, and I'm beat. So, I'll call it a night for now, and chat with you soon!

See, if people are gonna stare, I'd rather they just giggle, you know? Then it's over and done with, and "out there"...

One of my guys picked me up at my house this morning, as I didn't have one of the trucks down here. We were partway back up to the office, he looks at me, and says "What happened to your neck?"
I think he's got to be kidding, but I can tell by the look on his face that he's serious. So I raise an eyebrow, and ask, "Well, did you want details, or what?"
He pauses, then says "Well...no...not if they're....uh......intimate. But you look too bruised for it to have been...uhh...intimate......"
Mind you, he's still serious!
I just roll my eyes, and say, "What can I say, I bruise easy!"
He sits there quiet for a minute, then finally perks up and says, "Well, congrats, glad you had a good weekend!"
The other two never said anything, just stared and smirked. I'm sure I was the topic of conversation at some point during the day!

he he he he!! I have to say, that's pretty cute!! At least he was concerned !!
I remember once I had stayed over at my boyfriends house and he totally messed up one side of my neck. To make it worse I only had a tshirt, so I kept asking him to take me home to get a shirt, or at least lend me one of his. He wouldn't do it (and he was 30 at the time, so he should've known better!!).
I ended up walking around, feeling like a leper, until his best mate's sister told him off and made him take me home!
...Ah, glory days they were....
