h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Well, the UMIST LGB society had the idea of going bowling - we know the Uni of Manchester LGB went on Monday, but we had the idea first! Anyway, yesterday evening saw me drive three LGB committee members down to the Mega Bowl in Parrs Wood (a little bit stressful, but we got there OK). When we and the others got there, we discovered that all the lanes were taken until about three hours later! Apparently, both the treasurer (James) and events organiser (Maz) said "we don't need to book any lanes on a Wednesday evening". However, since the UMIST LGB still had money to spend, we all decided to have a meal at Pizza Hut - although James pointed out he could only pay for £9 per person (well, when is a treasurer not tight-fisted? I should know, as I am one! ). So we all had pizza (surprise, surprise), lots of ice-cream and Pepsi Max refills. After that, I went home as I had to put the car to bed - I'll find out what the others did later!
