A few years ago my old car finaly gave up the ghost and as I needed one for work I ran down to my friends car dealership to by a new used one.
Two cars got my eye.One a people mover good for six the other a four door Toyota. As the four door was not only about $4,000.00 cheaper and the fact that there was only myself and my wife I got the Toyota.
The next day I drove my car to work .While leaving that afternoon I heard a sound that still is as clear in my mind five years on as it was then.
It took only a second to hit the break but as I already knew what was going on somehow it seemed an hour.
I raced around to the other side of the car to find a metal bar that was part of a new pedestrian safety railing had pierced the front end of my Toyota from the front wheel all the way along to the back like a knife to butter.
This little thing cost me about $4,000.00 (I had saved not buying the van.
(The irony is) -there are two parking areas at my work. One for smaller cars 4 door and another for larger vans ,people movers and trucks without any new rail.
(The later irony is-) Two weeks later my wife and I found out that we were going to have our first child.(suprise!)
(The final irony is-) Now we are at child number to I find myself shopping for a family van. Stanlyism.
