Recently someone asked here whether it’s possible that Dubya could actually be ‘re-elected’. On the face of it, it doesn’t seem possible that, in a sane world, such a corrupt government could be perpetuated at the ballot box. It simply seems impossible to believe that sane people could give such an obvious criminal the nod for a second term.
Unfortunately, however, faith in human nature isn’t always justified. As I’ve said before - people are stupid. People still persist in trying to defend the indefensible and support the invasion of Iraq. People still believe - in the face of evidence to the contrary - that WMDs exist in Iraq. People still believe - in the face of evidence to the contrary - that Iraq was an imminent threat to the west. People still believe - in the face of evidence to the contrary - that Dubya's presidency is legitimate.
And now even self professed non-supporters of Dubya are becomming more uptight and paranoid than ever.
Yes, Mr Bush, you can look forward to another term. You’ve got stupid on your side. It’s a very powerful force.
(BTW, in Dubya’s case, the term ‘re-elected’ is of course inappropriate as he was never elected in the first place.)

The force of stupid is a growing force. What was it the Gandelf saoid about a shadow falling over the land?

He said "there is a shadow falling over the land"... he meant Sauron, but we have a more immediate worry. Dubya.
John Kerry is fighting allegations of shtupping (sp?) an intern. That shows that They are really worried about Kerry! For goodness' sake, can't they come up with anything original?

Too true... The Herald had a story yesterday, about the woman - she denies ever even working for Kerry. How could Drudge think the same story could work twice?

I think ES probably has the best answer for that one.

It's all to distract attention from the real scandal. That of Bush's desertion.
And yes, it is desertion. Michael Moore was first to go public with the 'd' word and as he's pointed out, Dubya went missing for five months from his service in the Texas Air National Guard in 1972 and the official US military definition of desertion is missing for more than 30 days (less than thirty days is AWOL) and Dubya disappeared for more than 150 days.
So it's Kerry the war hero versus Dubya the deserter and the republicans will do anything to change the subject.

"So it's Kerry the war hero versus Dubya the deserter and the republicans will do anything to change the subject."
I wonder how that'll work against the traditional 'war-time' prez vote?

"the same old intern story"
Bleedin unbelievable isn't it? Dubya can unjustifiably and illegally decimate foreign countries, costing tens of thousands of innocent lives and be a hot favourite for re-election. But Clinton can arrange a sly blow job in the oval office and nearly be impeached.
For goodness sake, he was just, one day, wondering why it was called the 'oval office' and one thought led to another...

I think they're losing confidence in him as a war-time Prez, even Time magazine was getting critical on behalf of American troops. He better invade somewhere PDQ! (Oh no, did I give him an idea or do they already know that?)

"I misread 'impeached' as decapitated"
Wow! Have you been staying up too late, watching too many scary movies lately?
