I like the Beach Boys: so there!smiley - nahnah I'd love to hear the original Pet Sounds...

Never heard of the patrick Wolf character, still continuing to undergo musical education: open to offers.

Chris: do you have a CD of your stuff you could send me by snailmail? Don't even think about links online, unless i get a new computer, i simply can't do it.

Pet Sounds is the worst album I've ever listened to. A friend of mine has bought and sold it a dozen times, tricked into thinking he's "missed' something by various name-dropping adolescent hipsters. I've told him all along it's total crap.

Miaow!

Not that psyched over the Beach Boys, I always loved the production on Good Vibrations though. Frank Black did a version of I Know There's An Answer - one of the weirder videos I've seen... It's all the staring. Woof!

Terri, I'll put something together and make a CD for you. It'll motivate me to get on with recording something... would you prefer mp3 or audio?

Patrick Wolf is cute but not doing anything for me.

Psychic TV did a decent cover of Good Vibrations, which was the only Beach Boys tune I could cope with. Psychic TV are probably an acquired taste, though- I've got to be in the right "mood". But I digress.

If I was going to fart around with a musical instrument for the sake of making noises that amuse me, I'd have a blast with a nice Farfisa (or Vox).

Someone told me I looked like Genesis P Orridge (pre-op!) once. I had dreads at the time. smiley - erm

I suppose there are worse people to look like. He's not uncomfortable-looking or anything. But it was probably because of the dreads they said it.

Random question- how long has it been since you had dreads, and does your hair still form them spontaneously at times? It's been close to 15 years since I had mine cut off, and from time to time, I'll find a small one forming.

Me and my tangents. smiley - erm

I had them in 94-5, never since. I keep my hair short now, used to get knots a lot when it was long. But not good hair for dreads, too fine. It just looked stupid.

My hair's really fine, too. The only thing that made it hold dreads reasonably at all was that it gets dry and ratty if not conditioned daily.

I don't miss them- I'd never have gotten my job if I were still wearing them. But it was kind of nice being able to get away without washing and "styling" (if you can call it that smiley - erm) my hair every day.

Have a smiley - snowball. We've got a bunch of the stuff, and now we don't want to run our errands this morning for fear of losing our rock star parking spot.

smiley - snowball Thanks. It's lovely here at the moment, though there are parts of Britain that are getting a fair whack of it at the mo, by Brit standards. Inevitably, it's headline news.

*waves to PC & Chris*

Erm, re the smiley - musicalnote stuff, i have a portable thing , it says it is a "MP3/CD player" which hooks up to an ancient stereo system (PC knows the storysmiley - winkeye)...i am not techie enough to know the difference.

Dubman has a "black magic box" which he sometimes brings round & connects to my Tv, then he inserts various Cd looking things into it & we get sound &/or a video. It's all rather a mystery to me. I've only just worked out how to get cassettes to rewind.smiley - erm

Hi Terri & Yoda. I just wanted to say sorry for being a bit rude and odd earlier in this thread. I was in a bad mood and my sense of humour gets a bit desperate when I get cross.

Sorry. smiley - cheerup

I was on a bus about a year ago and I heard a tiny little baby say, as clear as glass, "Hentai".

I was taken quite poorly for a while.
