Erm...uh... shoulder length brown hair, long face, grey-green-blue eyes, fairly thin, tallish, normally with a clarinet in my hands!

... not quite enough to draw from, I'm afraid. Sorry, wasn't meaning to ask personal questions. I'll draw you something strange and random instead, then.

I didn't expect there to be; you need a picture, really. And I don't think there is one around. Though, actually, if you look for the Readin meet up, I should be amongst those. But I'm not very photogenic abd *always* look crap. I haven't have a nice one of me yet.

Well, perhaps I can help you with that, too ...

I think there are some on mrnorris.co.uk but I can't remember where. Google has them though (as well as all sorts of strange stuff I wrote, especially my front page for some reason)

I'll try and look them up smiley - smiley

that could be fun! But I don't promise to look good. I never have done yet!

Aww ... you look pretty good to me. Just ... underexposed. Which is not your fault. (Actually it's a very common error -- underexposure and heavy shadows, which are what you get if you *will* sit on dark grey concrete ... still, I've been to Reading, and there's not much else there, is there?)

Ah, it's alright. Anyhow, I have to go; envelopes to stuff. Speak to you soon.

Oh, yes: I found it.

Again a pretty awful photo, compounded by a wide-angle lens (all compacts have wide lenses and they make people's noses look big ... why? Why? A 90mm lens is surely a better idea?)

Have fun, or failing that, um, don't.

Take care,

Aha- you thought I'd gone, but no- we have run out of envelopes. I'm back- with a vengance. Or at least a cup of tea.

Captain Haddock

Post 51

Andrew Wyld [kt:'Burning Pestle', kp:'Mutamems, Ideodiversity', Zaph.]

Vengeance and tea are one and the same if the tea is laced with cyanide. Under other circumstances -- no. So how come you were envelope stuffing in an office without envelopes? Sounds like bad planning on the part of logistics, or work avoidance on the part of you. In either case, I approve.

Captain Haddock

Post 52

Vip

Erm... I think we just ran out and didn't realise. And it wuld be work postphonement, not avoidance. Shucks, huh.

Andrew Wyld [kt:'Burning Pestle', kp:'Mutamems, Ideodiversity', Zaph.]

Shucking being the opposite of stuffing, as near as I can tell. Well, good luck for when they turn up.

What are you up to now, then?

Uh... 3/5ths FA? Sounds about right. I might enter some names on a database if I get desparate.

I wish I knew what that meant. Unfortunately I don't. But, and here's the great news, in a month, you won't have to either.

[cue VIP jumping up and down with joy, smiley - boing et al]

Have a smiley - panda. If they can't reproduce without help I'm going to propagate them as widely as possible.

Post 56

Oh... smiley - blush I'm afraid that is my short hand for saying nothing at all- 3/5ths of f**k-all. So unladylike!

You shock me, you unlady you.

That's going to get m*******d ....

So what would your interest in physics have been had you not decided to be a musician anyway?

Captain Haddock

Post 58

Vip

Hmm. I don't know. I couldn't have stuck with a physics degree. I might have applied for a particle or quantum degree. Then again I might have gone for philosophy or something.

Quantum is fun, although only because it's a great way of confusing people. I am a happy bunny because I'm having ideas about information propagation, the Schrodinger's Cat principle, and relativity -- or "is the 'observer' simply the event's light cone"?

[hops majestically -- if you can sustain such an image]

The whole observer thing is fine, but what is one person has observed, but someone else has not. Has the wave collapsed, or is it still omni-whatever-it-likes for the second person? Just a thought.
