I agree that it is very difficult to take a photo of someone that everybody likes. I also agree that the camera is a scientific instrument and as such, it doesn't make things up to upset people.
But, ooh, it irritates me so much when your darned passport photos turn out to have a face on them that really doesn't look like what you see in a mirror.
Today I had three sets of photos done, two by humans and one by a machine. The machines attempt was far superior (well, I looked less like a dead lady in them) but still not good. If I'm having a phtot on something for ten years, it'd be nice if it looked similar to me, and was possibly even flattering.
Ooh dear, I was angry wasn't I? I feel a lot better now. Phew.
