Writing.

Someone (read, someone mysterious and debonair and techmonkey like) has created a writing facility online, specifically for ME to store my writing online.
And it is fantastic.
And it's going into public beta testing soon.
Are there any writers on my Friends List? Or anyone that knows someone who needs a hosting facility just for their writing, made specifically for writers?
If so, let me know. I'll hook a brutha up...

A debonair little birdie tells me it's currently beta testing right now. The same little birdie thinks it may be a good idea to post in Ask about it.

I'm tempted to join the parade... I like to think of myself as a writer, but alas, I haven't had much time to write lately. It would be nice to share some, though...

Have to say sea, it's worth it even if you aren't as obsessively serious about writing as I am. I'm using it for reference in my letters to agents right now (yes, shock horror, I am actually making moves towards that!? ), but also so that when I'm talking to people online, I can refer them towards my work. It's basically an add on for my blog, so that eventually my blog shall become a website, for when I am rich and stupendously famous... You can share, or not share.
Whatever tickles your fancy.

Hi
Sorry to butt in - the 'writing' title of the thread drew me over here.
Have you all seen the Get Writing DNA site?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/getwriting/
There might be some things of interest over there to the writers amongst you.

Well, as I understand it, you have to submit your Articles to a Review Forum on Get Writing, and since it's a DNA site, you have to sell your soul to the Beeb to put it up there.
Nonsense, Luthiena. I'm sure your writing's great. You don't have to put anything serious up; You could just post up your h2g2 Articles. (You do own the copyright to them anyway, the beeb just has right to present.)

I guess so.
My main writing is in the books I write, and the poetry.

Peta - I use GetWriting! It's a fabulous site! But owing to the nature of some of my writing, I can't post all of it there. Too many s and explicitness for the site.
I do actually recommend that site to everyone by the way. There are some great learning sections that even the great I can pick up tips from.
Luthiena - I'm sure you're fine. It's not like a site where people can read your work randomly. It's like a storage facility : you stick it in, and you have a front page that, if anyone wants to read what you write, you can link them to. Like photo hosting, but for writing instead.
Go on. If only to help out poor lonely aka. He needs beta testing people.

I'm a bit confused as to how to go ahead with it, I'm not that good with computers and the extent of my skills is hootoo

It didn't appear to be very difficult. I'm user number 13 - I had a feeling I would be. At least it saves someone else who might actually be bothered from being it.

Luthi > It's basically just copy and paste. You can put them all under one catagory, if you want to, or make new catagories so you can organise them all as you see fit.
Me, I just made one for fiction, one for non-fiction, and dumped a bunch in. I'll put some poetry up there too soon.
