North Vancouver, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
7:19pm.
Dark, rainy, but clear. The view of the line of downtown is uninterrupted, and the lights reflect off the water like drawn out neon strips. The mountains, close by, are swathed in grey wet cloud.

This really is a hint for me to sort out Picture Hosting, isn't it?

You seem to have the British weather over there, Saturnine. Are the last few messages the result of British culture or trying to absorb the local dialect? Or are you merely speaking with too much take-away and rain in the mouth?

Oui - UK weather.
Non - I retain my Englishness. No absorbing. There's more English stuff than you can shake a stick at anyway. I can still watch Top of the Pops.

Funnee.
Seriously, honestly, truly. I pop culture. Modern fashion, reality TV, the occasional blast of TOTP...it doesn't mean to say I buy the clothes, the music or the lifestyle. But it's fun to watch. Makes for great entertainment.

Potholer! I haven't seen you for aaaaaaaaaaages.
I'm having a great time. Not been out too much - still adjusting. But it's all good.

I never made it to Vancouver when I was in Canada many years ago, but I wish I had been able to. Coastal cities (as opposed to plain ports) can be lovely, and I imagine it's nice there, if maybe a little cool.
I've just been looking at B.C. on Multimap for old time's sake, and I must say I didn't remember the Queen Charlotte islands being nearly so large, or the long day's drive back from the coast to the Rockies being quite so far, even though I drove about half of it.
I do remember the locals all seemed so *nice*. How will you manage?

I'm settling in OK. Taking my time to adjust, as I am here for quite a while. The weather is on the wrong side of ick, but apparently it's worse back in the UK.
