They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
~ The Ode, taken from For the Fallen, Laurence Binyon

We commemorate Anzac Day on 25th April.
It's big here - bigger I reckon than Remembrance Sunday.
I'm always moved by it.

You're all right AB, there's no reason you should have known.
It's notable that even though the ranks of the older conflicts are getting smaller, there are now young people marching, returned servicemen from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Now my kids all march - all the local schools are well-represented - behind the veterans. It's a mark of respect. But also stingingly poignant.

And nothing to be sorry for by the way! You're one of the good guys, AB, you know that.

Ta Doc. Must confess my thoughts were for your well being rather than the for those who died at Gallipoli. By the way I feel the same way on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th. month. Always honour the 2 minute silence.
