...I've had jack of this.
First I have some retard coming to my user space and telling me I shouldn't write about myself because it's boring. Then I get told off by his little parade of sycophants when I call him for the moron that he is and tell him to get the hell out of my user space. Apparently it's not 'nice' to tell someone they're a moron, but it's perfectly 'nice' for them to tell a person that their own space on the web is boring and stupid.
Not to mention I was being told off by a group of people who seemed to lack the fundamental ability to use a shift key or to spell basic words.
Firking digiboxers. Since they've arrived at Hootoo, it's slid into a cesspit of retardedness. I'm not going to wax lyrical about the old days, because nostalgia always looks best in hindsight. But there's no denying that their moronic prattle and illiterate keyboard hammerings have brought a certain aspect of aol-tardedness to what was previously an intelligent, thoughtful and silly but fun place to be on the 'net.
Silliness is one thing. "LOLOLOL OMG UR SO FUNY CN NE1 HLEP ME IM A MORON GRRR UR SO MEEN BE NICE U SHULD BE NICE ASL?????!1!!!!!!111lLOLOL" is another. And whilst there were linguistically challenged persons in Hootoo before the age of the Digi'tards, they were of the minority. Most people at least put some damned effort into their posting instead of slamming their palms down on the keyboard in some simianistic manner.
And yes, there's exceptions to the rule. Intelligent, literate people who are/were digiboxers. But by Christ they're in the minority. And it's telling.
So the long and the short of it is this - I've made the decision to leave hootoo. If I wanted to hang around a flock of retards who couldn't write a proper sentence if you sat down and wrote it out for them and then told them to copy it verbatim into the entry, then I'd go to AOL or Yahoo or some other 'tard haven on the web. But hootoo isn't supposed to be like that.
So I'm going. I don't need the aggravation. Someone call me when the morons have left the building, please.

I've noticed a whole subsection of researchers here and at first I thought they might be restricted by their access (digiboxes). Once I found out that several reasoned, informed, and readable researchers used digiboxes I formed another opinion. The kind of sudden, vicious loss of temper combined with posts that are totally self-centred and ignorant of other people's feelings would indicate something like FAS. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome creates a problem for teens and young adults in dealing with individuals in the outside world. It also creates intractable, lonely, self-centred individuals with short tempers. They tend to have pack mentalities in order to bolster their poorly supportable claims.
That sounds like your problem.

Yeh TopCat. Don't let the b***ards get you down. Remember. I am here through it. You have to skin many cats to make a furry coat.
I'll go beat some of them up. It could be fun. Moron hunting.

- I'm really sorry that you feel like that - I must say that
I do understand what you mean about a seeming inability to communicate in written English and abhor it - as you do
but
I usually act dumb, as in ... "I'm sorry, what language are you writing in?" or, more likely, try to set a good example (sometimes works) - you must remember that some people really CAN'T spell.
However, if what they are saying is inane etc, I find that simply ignoring it is the most effective way of dealing with it .... that's the great thing about the thread system - if you ignore it - it will simply drift to the bottom of the page and eventually disappear - responding keeps bringing it back
Because I'm not into that "text-speak" I tend to stay away from the threads where it is used - and I must also add that, the LD people who I have had contact with are usually very nice - so, I must say that it's not fair to tar them all with the same brush
I hope that you will reconsider - maybe take a break and a deep breath ...

Nice? Are you sure? You must be coming across a rare breed. I was one of them, I know these things.
Besides, "nice" is one thing. Intelligent, productive and fun are a whooollllle other world.

Aaah yes - but remember.... if we didn't have the "downs" in this world we wouldn't appreciate the "ups"

Well of course you disagree. You've made that evident in many other threads. The point is, what are you disagreeing to here? The dislike of txtspch? The fact that THKC wanted to leave because of the harrassment she received? Or the desire expressed to be in a site that isn't just chatter?
Or are you just being contrary in order to annoy?

Well, you mad t**t. If being positive is skulking around in a different user name and making contrary statements that have no real meaning, you've outdone yourself. Especially when you agree but aren't clear about what you're agreeing with.

There's not much point in reviving this thread - Top Hat Kitty hasn't been here for ages .... I think she moved to Adelaide and dropped off hootoo. But continue if you like

What gives you the idea that I skulk around using differnet usernames? I'm me and this is the only name I use 'cause it's mine. I think you must be mistaking me for some other twit.
