That they are. Though I must admit that working in a call centre seems to be worse than working in a store ever was. There's just something about the telephone that turns ordinarily intelligent people into drooling morons...

Surprisingly not so much abuse, just daft people. I work in the classifieds department of a newspaper company. We produce 17 local newspapers across Sydney, each different names but owned by a banner company called **** Newspaper Group. But the amount of people who'll just call up and say "I want to put my ad in the **** classifieds please", instead of specifying their actual local paper, is absolutely amazing. We then have to explain exactly how many papers it is that we produce, and that /no/ we can't just tell them which paper to go in if we don't know where they live
