I did it. I did it. Yesterday I went and got my very first tattoo!
It's in the small of my back, a purple and teal wyvern about an inch an a half or two inches long, curled around a yin/yang symbol with a chain type decorative thingie dangling from its tail. I love it. It's so cool.
I loved getting it too! It didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it might. I almost fell asleep in the chair as it was being done. The bit that hurt worst was when some parts of solid colour were being coloured in, but on the whole it wasn't too terribly bad. I want more though. Really, lots more. The small of the back is one of the more painful places, and it didn't even hurt that much. But, yeah.
http://cheesecakethulhu.homestead.com/files/Wyvern1.jpg and http://cheesecakethulhu.homestead.com/files/Wyvern2.jpg are it, though you can't see the colours properly. But look. Enjoy! I know I did...

I'm surprised, cause anywhere near a bone is meant to hurt like hell....mine did (on my hip bone).....the inside bit was good, but when they coloured the bit on the bone, hurt a lot. But as they say, you can't even remember the pain once it's finished.

Looks nice! Is it symbolic of something or purely aesthetic?

Everyone told me that right above my spine would be excruciating, but it wasn't...
It's sorta symbolic, but sorta not. I just like dragons and wyverns and whatnot, and it was pretty...and cheap

That small of the back area is a good massage point too. Maybe 'cause of the pleasure/pain thing.
Where d'you reckon you'll be going for next..?

Ah...if wishes were horses, then beggars would ride. I /dream/ of having this http://cheesecakethulhu.homestead.com/files/MyTat.jpg on the back of my right shoulder. But it's mucho expensivo and would be a by the hour job, likely lasting several sessions. To be honest, with financial, time and pain constraints, I'm likely to probably just get some celtic knotwork in matching colours to extend either side of the Wyvern's wings, just to make it a little larger and more of a feature.
