Ooh, getting up at six in the morning after a long concert is always a drag - I had the day off yesterday, maybe I should have had today off too!
Never mind - it was a really good laugh, even if the music was a bit on the silly side in places. The audience loved it, and that's what counts.

Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra's 'A Christmas Night at the Movies' - somewhere up in the South Wales Valleys, with a very nice audience who very kindly laughed at all the conductor's jokes.
We were playing all sorts of stuff - the Overture from 'King Kong' (I'm not kidding), Music from 'Oklahoma', 'The Belles of St Trinians' 'Star Trek the Motion Picture' and so on.
At one point he made a joke about a politician and did the usual 'I hope he's not here' routine - to which a heckler replied:
'His solicitor is'.
Well we thought it was funny...

Sounds like fun - I used to love doing Christmas concerts (especially the corny Christmas numbers!)when I played clarinet with the Bradford Metropolitain Youth Band - not in your league though. We used to play a medley from Oklahoma too.
