I have looked and looked but still can't for the life of me figure out how to add to my reference list. I have a dreadful memory for anything useful and have to reference everything. Since I can't edit my journal entries, I will create another journal entry with a list of people and places (and hide the old) each time I find a new one I would like to revisit.

Maybe, when whoever it is that checks to see if I am misbehaving reads this, they will give me a clue. No one else seems to be coming to call recently. Otherwise, I will just hide the old and re-post with bits of new entries causing unnecessary clutter all over the server. So there!!

Gee whiz, I sound really awful. It's just that I feel particularly cranky and out of sorts today. I generally don't deal at all well with frustration (especially frustration with a duration of weeks) and my malaise is leaking all over everything. What a mess, hope I don't have too much clean up to do.

My list thus far:

November 30 (I have to maintain guidelines, you know)

Gillytwoflower-she is having too much fun and I don't want to miss out.

Galaxy Space Babe - she likes alot of the same stuff I do.

How strange....I've never been called that before!
You *have* had visitors, but you aren't subscribed to your own page, so you haven't seen the posts.
Click "click here to be notified of new conversations about this entry" on your page.
Like you did on the Keepers page, or was that an accident?
I was actually looking for a helper with the Keepers, are you available?
I need someone to go through all the Keepers and ask them nicely if they would like to join the Yahoo groups Keepers mailing list I have started.
The addy is at the top of the Keepers page, but obviously I can't post the link here. smiley - sadface

Tell me what you are refering to in your journal.
What are you trying to do when you say "add to your reference list"
smiley - huh
"Since I can't edit my journal entries, I will create another journal entry with a list of people and places (and hide the old) each time I find a new one I would like to revisit"
You can always post after your original journal, if it's the same subject.
Have a look at my journals...smiley - bigeyes
Or create a new one *shrug* there's plenty of space on h2g2 smiley - winkeye
"each time I find a new one I would like to revisit" do you mean conversation? If you post, the thread will appear on your space, don't forget to click on your "click here to see more conversations" after the last one....it'll take you to "MP" {more postings} and your user number.
If you find a place you like but don't want to post just yet, then click "click here to subscribe to this conversation/entry" after you have done that, if you no longer wish to be subscribed, there should be an "unsubscribe" link to click.

Anything else I can help you with? Just shout.smiley - winkeye

Amy Pawloski, aka 'paper lady'--'Mufflewhump'?!? click here to find out... (ACE)

And, of course, you could always go to the GuideML clinic ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/GuideML-Clinic ) to learn how to make links on your space...

Yes, No, Maybe - I don't know...Can you repeat the question?
Took me a while to get back as I am going round and round with the men that showed up to work on the house. They're not doing it according to the plans, I don't speak Russian and they don't speak English. My head exploded and I have just now got most of the mushy bits sponged up and squeezed back in. The shell is held together nicely with the handyman's friend (duct tape). I like the new look, less need to muss with my coif.

I eventually did figure out that I had to subscribe to pages and spent much time trying to find them again in order to click on the proper phrase. It never occurred to Me that I would have to subscribe to my own page like a commoner. Me and I have always been on good terms. (Except for that little disagreement in 1974, but I thought Me was over it as I certainly forgave and forgot. That B____ always did hold a grudge.)

The reference list I am refering to is in the right column of my page. I want to list the places I go in that column, not just the discussions in the space at the bottom of the page, where my journal posts appear. Sort of a "one click" way to look at the topic, not just one discussion or the other. I see my Suite101 homepage listed there and I wanted to list the Farscape Appreciation Society as well as anything else that interests me without limiting myself to one discussion or the other. I've seen it done on other people's pages and can't figure out how. I don't even know how I got my page there.

The "Galaxy SPACE Babe" is just an example of how I have to make notes for myself. That was a mental bleed in of Galaxy Babe and Space Babes. It certainly was a compliment as it puts you in great company if you check out the "Space Babes" on the net. I printed out the "Smiley" instructions for myself and will try them out soon. Maybe I'll just do a whole thing on "My Space". I'm such a dweeb. Your Archangel title is certainly well deserved, I might even go as far as Saint with the patience and helpfulness that you have shown. Thank you, kindly.

If I haven't taken too long to reply, I would love to help you with the keepers. You let me know what to do and I will do it. Within reason, of course. After that little incident a year or two back, there is a town ordinance referencing my removing my clothes and running through the streets. It was ugly, Greenpeace showed up and tried to throw me back into the ocean. Grown men were crying, children were struck blind and small animals fell dead on the spot. National Geographic investigated in reference to something about a rare whitebelly. It was an event that we all choose to forget.

Thanks again for your patience and explanations. I certainly appreciate it all. (I'll probably still rant in my journal, I love pounding out my frustration on these keys!)

Thanks for the help and the URL. (I am highly suspicious of people that can post things, like URLs, that I have had removed. Are you one of Them? - JUST KIDDING!! - Too much SciFi.)

You are right, I could and will go to that site to try to figure out how things work. Even though it is "reading the instructions" and in some societies that is considered cheating. They don't mind a little research, but actually reading the instructions is really a "gray" area. I'll risk it, just for you.

Thanks, again. By the way, Woozle thanks you for the Mufflewhump. They are having a grand time together. It's a joy to watch. How very thoughtful of you.

You are doing just fine, with the advert in your name!
smiley - biggrin
Thanks very much!

I certainly wasn't offended that you got my name slightly wrong, in fact, I am considering changing my name to "Galaxy Space Babe"
smiley - laugh

Maybe Christmas week!smiley - biggrin

I've never changed my name, since I joined this site.
Most people call me GB or AGB now, if that is easier for you to remember smiley - bigeyes

Thank you for the compliments, I like helping people smiley - smiley
smiley - flyhi

To link to sites you like {with an "A" numer} on h2g2:

Keepers
gives a clickable link to the Keepers page.

to link to a ~person~ you like {a user number}:
Galaxy Babe

To type a smiley into Guide ML :
<SMILEY TYPE="biggrin"/>
<SMILEY TYPE="bunny"/>
etc. etc.

If you would like a tidy list of links {when you are feeling more adventurous}, look at the list of "researchers I have met" list on my page. At the bottom is "the code for this list" select that and "go".
This will take you to the page with the code, which you copy & paste onto your page, and fill it in how you want to, with your own title.

Don't try it until you are confident with Guide ML though, as it can be very frustrating for a beginner {I remember!}smiley - yikes

Thanks again for the ad!
smiley - hug
