Peter Gzowski 1934-2002: Nobody opened up Canada like Peter. He talked to Canadians far and wide, some of whom sounded like they lead the most boring lives on earth, and yet every show was interesting, entertaining, and educational. He seemed to believe that if it was Canadian then Canadians would be interested in it. And he proved himself right. Job well done, Peter, I will miss you.
Taliban/Al-Qaeda in Cuba: Let me see if I am missing something here. There is this group of soldiers/terrorist who live half way around the world in a poor country whose main goal in life is to attack the western world especially the USA. Their weapons are outdated and they have basically no way to get there. So the US captures them and flies them to within a few hundred miles of their borders into a base loaded with modern weapons and aircraft. I know they are well guarded, so let us just hope the yanks know what they are doing.
Lots of snow here this month, lots of drivers stranded, crashing, slipping and sliding. Glad the rains have returned and we can get back to our wet coast weather.
Visa card showed up with all kinds of charges I did not make. Visa people very nice about it and new card on the way, but still a hassle, now I have to contact all the places that automatically charge my card and change the number.
Managed to get out to a movie this month. Saw Lord of the Rings, enjoyed it thoroughly. Cannot wait for the sequels.
Work changed from 11 hour shifts to 12 hour shifts. Not too much difference, but at the end of the week, I am pretty tired. Still, I have only done 2 weeks of them so far.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
