Ivor Cutler vs First Bus

Alright alright, obviously it wasn't the real Ivor but still...
Anyway.
Normally I hate getting on the bus round our way but today was quite entertaining thanks to 'Ivor'. You know those buses with the two spaces at the front for priority passengers, i.e. elderly, people with prams, etc? Ivor was sitting in one of those spaces when a girl comes on with her pram. She couldn't sit in the other space as another mum was there with her buggy so the bus driver asked Ivor to move to another seat. Old Ivor wasn't having any of it so the poor girl had to wedge her pram in sideways and stand. Round 1 to Ivor.
Round 2. When we got to the bus station Ivor started having a go at the bus driver for victimising old folks and stuff, merely because the driver told Ivor he had to move, but funnily enough nobody on the bus seemed to be very sympathetic for this old guy who was clearly quite fit and able for his age. The bus driver then explained that he is always first on the bus and insists on sitting in the same seat, even when the bus is completely empty. And when someone needs to put their pram/buggy in that space he makes the same arguments.
Poor Ivor; he was looking round at us for support and all we could do is giggle at this silly guy - he wasn't a happy bunny!

My brother's a bus driver. I've told this story elsewhere but one day the manager put him on a route he didn't know. My brother complained that they always had training on a route before they drove it with passengers.
"You'll be alright! Just ask the passengers - they know the route!"
The passengers happened to be school kids. The bus went down roads that it had never been down before and ended up in the middle of the country.
Miles from anywhere and with steam coming out of his ears my brother threw them all off. He drove back to the garage and there was the manager waiting for him.
"I've got hundred's of angry parents on the line! Where are their children?"
My brother had to drive back out the the middle of nowhere and bring all the kids back. They were always very well behaved on his bus after that.
Key: Complain about this post
