For the uninitiated, the Burning Crusade is the new expansion pack for World of Warcraft. Yes, I am geeky enough to have preordered it Currently loading the discs now wondering why in the hell does an expansion pack have FOUR CDs, same as the game itself, and why they can't just bung it onto a couple of DVDs instead? But then again, if you've ever played any of Blizzard's games it doesn't really come as a surprise. They ain't exactly the brightest bunch at the best of times...

Let me know if it's any good (though I'll buy it regardless!)

Some of my guildies and raidgroup colleagues had their copy all set up for last night and they were totally loving it. Not much consolation to the 1,000 or so of us sitting on the other side of the portal wondering if there would be any cool monsters coming out of it!

Does everyone have a DVD player in their machine? I haven't, as I don't want to watch DVDs on the computer, so maybe that's why they still use CDs. It's still the standard bit of kit (for us oldies, anyway!).
How long do you have before you'll be playing it with a baby hanging off your lap?

I was in the local Gamestation on Monday evening after work and there was quite a bit of talk about it from the staff that unfortunately a good handful of people who bought it would have been quite disappointed because they wouldn't be able to play it at. I was told by one of the staff members (the lovely one who I purchased my Wii from a few weeks back) that apparently they'd had a message from Blizzard saying due to a "logistics problem" not all the Burning Crusade boxes got shipped with a registration code or something.

Ah, that was the Collector's Edition - they forgot to put in the code you validate in game to get your exclusive pet - numpties!
Five weeks to go Mina so I'm playing as much as I can now It also gives me something to do during the day as quite a lot of normal houseworky stuff is beyond my abilities these days

DVD? CD? How do these work?
*Goes to dig out his old D&D 1st ED, his Tunnels and Trolls, his AFF, his Judge Dredd RPG and his Star Wars D6 rule books to see if he can find mention of these strange devices*

So... there I was last night, going to beat up some Wraithtails at the Zoram Strand. I got one and took its head, I got another and took its head... I went after the third and it just stood there while I knocked seven bells out of it. I looked for the forth and there were no Wraithtails. I went back to Astranarr and it was deserted. I logged off. I tried to log back in. "World Server Down". After an hour I managed to get back on... the worst anyone else had got was a bit of lag.

I'm on Earthen Ring for me sins *points at Mr D*
Last night Kalimdor kept crashing, as did the Outland server. But I missed all the disconnections as I was sitting in one of the new dungeons waiting for the rest of the party and as the dungeons run on different servers I escaped the madness

What are people complaining about the weather for? Today's the best day we've had for weeks, bright sunshine and no wind, unlike the gales and raun we've been having.
Where abouts in sunny scotland are you?

Currently sitting in a hotel in North Queensferry looking at the less than beautiful forth road bridge (the view of the rail bridge being sadly disrupted)
So far this week we've had gales, downpours, sleet and snow. so a fair old mixed bag. Ah well back to England and all the storms down there tomorrow :S

Blimey. North Queensferry has a hotel? The regeneration plan must have moved on apace since I was last there.
