My copy of the new HP arrived yesterday and I'm reading it to little . On the second chapter at the moment (although of course, I'm speeding ahead myself).
Actually, I'm stalled at the moment. Little came and enthusiastically whirled round sitting next to me, after having got up to do something and hurt me, so I've told him he'll get the remainder of the chapter just before bedtime. I know he didn't do it on purpose, but I want him to be more careful and to realise he can hurt if he's not.
I'm not usually the sort of person who gets excited about such things, however I confess to having been rather pleased when the postman brought it yesterday.
Apparently the Post Office laid on extra vans to cope with the weight of the books. They are really heavy.

My daughter walked down to our local bookshop and bought it at 7:30 am Saturday. Started reading it at 8:15 and read solid until lunchtime. By that stage she had read four fifths of it. She finished it this morning and says it is the best HP so far.

The first 150 pages look as if they've wandered in from another book, but the other 600 pages are the normal cracking read. Just as well I had it when I was sent to hospital for observation as a result of severe gastro-enteritis. It was the only thing that kept me sane.

Reading it to little , at a couple of points, he was mooching round the room giving every indication of not listening, then I got to a funny point and he burst out laughing. Looks like there is plenty of 'encouraging him to prepare for bed before being read a chapter' here!
I'll have finished it long before him, of course!
