Mister Matty

Yes, I saw TWO Edinburgh Festival shows this year - double my last year record.

First off, Mike Daisey with "21 Dog Years" an entertaining monologue about the awfulness of corporate work-culture and the ease of rising through a corporation during the short-lived dot.com boom of the late 1990s. It was most good, although Mr Daisey is one of the sweatiest men to have lived. And he looked embarrassed when my mate's girlfriend pestered him for a signature in a chance meeting in the pub afterwards. And he quickly fled.

And then there was Late and Live. The compere was great as was Simon Munnery (What character is this he is playing with beard and broken arm? Oh, he really does have a broken arm and that's a real beard) and the angry Irish man. I can't comment on final act The Umbilical Brothers as I fell asleep during most of their act. But, like a narcoleptic fool, I kept jolting awake to applaud after each segment of their act - "ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz *huh* Bravo! *clapclap* ZZZzzzzzz".

Overall, jolly good. Remind me to go next year.

Angry Irish man was Jason Byrne. Fun Fact: I showed him my thong after the charity strip on Sunday (I wasn't wearing it) and he picked it up, then hurriedly dropped it when he realised I'd been wearing it.
