Cardinal Noah (is now back!!!) Started conversation Jun 13, 2002
yesterday i met Bluebottle . i was a tad nervous as i'd never met him before (or anyone from h2g2!) but he is great! . we spent all day wandering around Southampton and sitting in the park. i'd never been on a bendy bus before so we hopped on one to the nearest stop (about a 20 second ride ) it was brilliant . but anyway, BB is a hoopy frood . hopefully we are meeting next wednesday !

I'm glad we did in the end, and thankyou for calling me a Hoopy Frood! I had a good time, and look forward to seeing you again on Monday - I'm assuming it'll be Southampton, same time, same place again, if that's alright with you? If not - let me know ASAP! Hope to see you soon, my friend.

A letter for me?Yay!!! I love getting letters - I'll do my best to reply as soon as possible - I packed my stamps, but I haven't found them again yet. I've found my stationary, envelopes and paper, though.
So far, living in Leeds has been a little strange, but I've not been outside the house much, just staying indoors and unpacking. It's almost as if I've moved house in Southampton for all the surrounding area I've seen. Sarah and I did go down town today, though. They have over 8 Greggs in the city centre, but none doing the Sausage Rolls offer.

Glad to hear the letter arrived safely!
So, what have I been doing? Well, I didn't get the job I applied for, alas... But on the bright side, I had a great time seeing my old friend Ben ("The Fish") get married!. And on the strange side, I saw HRH Queen Elizabeth II outside the job centre the other day. It's true!

i causally walked past her palace last week and embaressed myself by asking "what's that building then?"
why was she outside the job centre?

I had known that the Queen was going to be in Leeds that day as she was undergoing a tour of Yorkshire and had a Jubilee Event outside the Leeds library that afternoon. I knew she was going to be at the library, but I wasn't that bothered and went to the Job Centre at the complete opposite end of town to get away from the crowds that had gathered to see her. But ironically, the road the job centre was on was on the route she took to the library, and we saw her clear as day, in the slow-moving car with police escort. Prince Philip looked bored, and the Queen waved at people (but not us).

I can't help but think of the Dead Ringers impressions of her now whenever she's mentioned...

You missed "Hello I'm Charlie, and these are my Dimmocks"? Oh well... Did you see the Fast Show "Chanel 9" parody of her?

Hope you have a great weekend, and send a postcard! (Well, you don't have to, but it's always nice. )
Let me know what all the photos turn out like. Shame they weern't developed earlier or we could have had them blobbed for the post article. Oh well, there's always the next meet.

Oh. I'm sure it'll turn up sooner or later.
Do things go missing a lot when you have 2 houses?

You probably won't read this in time, but anyway - I'm going to pass through Southampton on Thursday 10th June 2004, and if you're going to be there I'd love to meet up with you again! I've lost your e-mail address and phone number.
