So, for the fourth time in about 18 months, my leg started getting red, swollen, itching and hurting.
Since it was the fourth time, I recognised it as being Cellulitis (an inflammation of the tissue just under the skin) and it has gone away previously with the help of antibiotics, so I headed up to the local hospital to get some pills and then go back home and pop pills for a week. The doctor, however, didn't agree that I should go home the same day, so I had to spend a couple of days in the hospital, being their pin-cushion for two days while they took blood tests and gave me an IV with the antibiotics.
After they released me from the hospital, they told me that I'm not only going to have to stay on the current dosage for 12 days, but I'd have to stay on a lowered dosage for another 6 months to try to erradicate whatever it is that causes these reoccurring infections.
And since Antibiotics doesn't go well with alcohol, I won't be able to drink alcohol for the duration of the medication, hence the title of the journal entry.
Usually, this wouldn't be much of a problem, cause I don't drink that often anyways, but with the Scottish Easter meet-up looming around the corner as well as the football season, and its get-togethers, it could get a bit rough. But I'll manage.
I hope....

Crivens! That's harsh. Still, will do your liver a world of good and allow you to get all smug at us on the meet ups.

My liver's not doing too badly even if I'm allowed to drink alcohol. I rarely drink as it is, so it won't be that much of a problem to stay away from it. Only bad things will be the Scotmeet, my sister's 25th birthday and my brother's wedding, which all falls into that 6-month span.
