Ku'Reshtin (Bring the beat back!)

Claymores season started yesterday, our own starts this coming Sunday. Life is good. Football's back in town.
And it couldn't have started better. The Barcelona Dragons came to visit Glasgow, and they were slain by the Claymores, 45-17. We all knew that anyways, didn't we? A Claymore always slays a Dragon, just check any mythological saga you like.smiley - smiley

And the Glasgow Tigers Senior team will see it's first game action this coming Sunday, when we go to Boston, East Midlands to play. Of course, the Tigers have been around before, but then we were called the Strathclyde Sheriffs instead. This is a new season, we have a good team, and we all think that we can do well this season. We'll just have t wait until this weekend to see.

Hey, Alfredo.
Yes, the Admirals won on Saturday, but you have to remember that they've employed a whole heap of ex-Claymores for this season.. Blaine McElmurry and Kevin Daft (I can't stop liking that namesmiley - smiley) to mention but two of them. So, you could say that the Claymores won two of the games played this season.smiley - tongueout

Our season is about to start this coming weekend, and we'll start off by going south, to Boston, which is about 6½ hours bus ride south. We have to leave Glasgow at around 6am, sunday morning...smiley - sadface

I will keep you informed on the progress of our team.smiley - smiley

BTW, were you at the game on Saturday, or did you watch it on the telly or something? Do you get a lot of coverage in Holland about the Admirals?

I accidently saw something on the telly in the weekly sportprogramm where they normally only show regular football.

The coverage is very poor in Holland. As well as on telly as in the papers there is very little attention to this sport. The main sport over here is football (soccer for americans), football and again footbal, followed by speedskating during the winter season and at last the other sports at great distance.

Only Fox pays attention to football, and this is mostly half an hour in the week. It says enough I think.

Okay, pretty much like here, then. Here they've got three channels of Sky Sports, and they usually show football, football, cricket, and then more football. And sometimes even some Aussie rules football and some rugby. American Football has about 3 hours a week during the NFLEurope season (coverage of the Claymores games) and then somewhere from 3 to six hours during the regular season in the US, mostly on digital channels, though, which isn't available unless you have a Sky Decoder box.
Then Channell 5 has one or two games a week as well, during the US NFL season as well, so the coverage then is actually not that bad.smiley - smiley

But except for the games they show here, there is virtually no coverage of it, which is a shame.

It is a same indeed. Even for a footballfan like me there are to many games on telly. I am getting tired of it.

Beware the World Cup is coming up so there will be a lot of forecasts and so on before the show get's started.

Yeah, and as someone said in a discussion forum for the Claymores, the coverage over here is bad in the best of times, but now that David Beckham has broken his foot, and it's the build-up towards the World Cup, the coverage will most likely be even worse...smiley - sadface

Goodluck Lis, we didn't qualify (don't ask why) so maybe it will be less football the coming weeks.
