The Jeweled Cichlid... It's staring at me!!!
fundamentallyflawed Started conversation May 16, 2007
Bonjour!
I'm am currently at my parents house with a fish staring at me. I think he wants something. Oh, he stopped.
Anyways... Here's what I've been doing... Not alot.
I was kidnapped by a couple of friends that I haven't seen in a loooong time (one of them I hadn't seen in maybe three years) last night. They bought me dinner and ice cream. Yay!
Then another friend took me out for lunch today, followed by more ice cream. Yay!
I'm at my parents, which I have mixed feelings about. I like visiting my family, but at the same time I don't have my own space here and I've been here for more than a week now. is with me so it's not too bad. They really want me to stay for the summer to the extent that my mom has even found a job for me here.
I'm not too sure what I want to do though. I miss my room!
On the one hand, it's a guaranteed job. If I go home I have to find a job. I've never had a problem finding a job so I'm not too worried about that, but it is nice to have something certain going on after all the chaos in the last few months.
On the other hand, I am basically a guest here. I don't have a room or much privacy. All of my stuff is at home (but I can go get some of it). Also, I tend to take on a lot of extra family responsibility-type stuff when I'm here and it's very draining. But I could help out financially if I'm here and if I figure out what I need to pay rentwise at home if I'm not actually there. We shall see.
My younger brother wants me to teach him to play guitar... Which I haven't done in maybe four years (bass about three). So I'm trying to remember easy songs that he would know.
Rambling is fun... But I'll stop now.
So, how's everybody else?

Whoa FF, how does it feel to be an adult with all that adult decision-making stuff.
It was much more fun in the old days when your parents told you what to do - or is that just me.
Did your sister have her baby btw I lost track of that other thread.

I've had adult-type responsibility stuff for as long as I can remember. I did a lot of caretaking of the house and my siblings (including the older one) when I was younger. And I've always looked after myself as much as possible, so it's really not that different.
And my sister did have the baby and they're both doing well.

We shall see. It's actually a full time babysitting kind of job. I'm not too sure I really want to do that kind of thing again but I'm going to meet the lady and her kids on Saturday.

Alright I did it. For better or for worse I took that babysitting job and I'm staying at my parents for the summer.
I have about a million and one things to do now- including sorting out what I'll be doing about rent at home- but ah well. We shall see how it goes.
Anyways, for many many reasons I am in a pretty bad mood right now. What can I do that's fun?

I can just imagine. The room I'm staying in at my parents is my mom's "green room" (which I call the zen room). There are so many things in here that it would be fun to smash up!

Make sure you put on some really loud music as you do it. You can then smash things up to a good tune, and no-one will know you've been smashing stuff up until long after you've finished

Hmmm... I have Roxy Music on right now. I don't know if that's loud enough though.
Hey, if I smash the place up they may not want me to come back... I haven't decided if that's good or bad.

No, nowhere near loud enough
Smash the place up and leave it to fate. If they can accept that, you're in there for life. If not, it was never meant to be. Start with something you might have knocked over by mistake

Right now I'm just playing Poppit.
I found a downside to the smashing things up plan... I have to sleep in here. There are TONS of plants and it's bound to be very messy. I don't want to sleep on soil. Too bad. I know! Maybe I can go to another room and smash things up! Ya, I could smash up the livingroom. Which means I can also go through my dads music and find something loud.
I actually know people who take the time to learn to swear in other languages. Doesn't seem like that much fun to me though.

Smash everything up, then put a tent up on the soil layer. You could always plan by going outside the room in advance and getting one of you Dad's CDs, you know. You can then learn a foreign language from inside the tent, and when it takes your fancy pop out and practice it. I'm sure Terri knows the French for 'yeah, it's broke, and I don't care'
