I am writing this at work on a piece of purple paper.
I will post this when I get home tonight. (I actually went out for dinner when I got home but I'm posting it now, so that's better than nothing.)
I am working for my mom again today, as I have all month, and I'm in a whole lot of pain!
I'm annoyed because I've again been told that I'm "too young to have knee problems". I was told this by someone who doesn't know me or anything about me. She is the lady who did *most* of my parents tatoos as well as my sisters tatoo. I met her for the first time when I saw her do one of my dad's tatoos and have seen one other time between then and today.
Before she dismissed me as being "too young" she told me that I should sit on the chair under the metal pyramid. I really don't think sitting under a pyramid is going to do too much good. Especially since my knee doesn't always think sitting is a fun way to be.
Besides, I *do* sit in that chair quite often so I can see both doors while I read and guess what... It does NOTHING good for my knee!!!
She then accused me of "wanting the pain".
What the ???
There is not a lot you can ing do when you have chronic knee pain!
You cannot command it to go away or
it away. The knee is the boss and it sucks! I find it extremely insulting for someone to come along and say that I "want the pain" when they have NO IDEA what it feels like.
Somedays (like today) I'm surprised that I'm not constantly screaming and crying with pain. The first week or two that I hurt it I was and it's worse now because my right knee and hip have decided to protest. But you do learn to cope pretty quickly.
Then I got the too young comment.
Too young to have knee problems?
Well I must be al because I
in' do!

I am in a much better mood now because I went out for dinner.

Glad you ended up in a better mood after dinner.
It is rediculous and ignorant to tell somebody how they feel!
Emotionally , physically or otherwise.
Feelings are not debatable.
It can be very disturbing and relationship ruining.
Opinions and wrong facts are debatable.
The poo head can keep their future opinions about your pain to themselves!
That hurts far more than it helps
I wish you could see a good doctor. There are specific things that go wrong with teens and young adults, and some with females. Some things can happen at any age, like Arthritis. You have complained of hip-shoulder and knee pain Is this all on the same side of your body?
If you do not want to discuss further I understand

A lot of new agey types think that all pain is somehow self induced or secretly wanted, an idea I find abhorrent. And sitting under a pyramid sounds flakey and useless. Don't pay any mind to this lady; she is not a good council.
(I will say that not all new agers believe such things, and some of them can be very nice and supportive)
If your doctor is not responsive to the pain you are experiencing, I would find another.

What utter f***ing bilge!!!!! Gawd almighty, let her try sitting under a sodding pyramid compared to what i saw with my own eyes on the screen when they went inside my knee; the surgeon said "Wow, just look at that meniscal tear; look!" and even i could see a sodding great rip; which got sorted out & a heap of crap floating round sucked out. Then he looked at the ligaments , which resembled flapping bits of pink seaweed, instead of strong supportive bands "i am amazed you can walk at all, can't do much about that, other than hope nature sorts it out"
Er....guess what? I didn't "want" this pain!
My advice? Join this site (i am there as "quelle surprise" zendevil!)

And see just how many of the folks on there are young people.
The "too young" stuff makes me bloody fume, i got told i was "too young" to: know what love is (still remember him now with great affection) be capable of taking decisions regarding contraception (if i hadn't i would probably have a seriously screwed up 30 odd kid by now, & a very limited life) say "oy, i am in acute abdominal pain, get me to a hospital!"(got told it was period pains/hysteria, it was a burst appendix)....oh gawd, the list goes on.
Get out there, find a decent doctor who sees you as a rational adult & get it sorted, bypass these idiots. &
again.
Tattoos & pyramids, dear god! Hippies have a lot to answer for!

I'm sooo sick of doctors. I've never liked them to begin with and recently all I've gotten from them is "you're too young, bye". They tend to ignore me if I have a serious concern.
I actually have other random stabbing pains. The most recent is right under the left breast, sort of to the side and in a bit. I've had similar stuff right down my side before too. People think I'm making it up. I ing wish I was!
There isn't really a particular side. I notice a little bit more on the left but maybe that's because it's my dominant side?
I've had heart-type problems too that I can't find a doctor to take seriously.
Phooey on them all!

The stabbing chest pains sound to me like a "stuck rib"; i get this a lot; if you are tensed up generally, it can glue up your ribcage temporarily. The best way to find out is this, but you have to be VERY brave, it bloody hurts!
*Take a Massively deep breath in, as much as you possibly can
*Hold it for as long as you possibly can
*Breathe out, you will probably go into a nasty coughing fit
But after that has subsided, if you breathe in again fairly hard & the pain has gone, it was a stuck rib & you just unstucked it!

Eeep! Usually when something like that happens I get massive ouchy pain when I breath in. I'll try it next time though. Then I'll come on here or msn and yell at you for making me hurt myself.

You're not too young to have knee pain. I've had problems with my knees since I was 18 or 19 years of age.
Doctors can be so useless sometimes.
